変形したＴ字路に建つ家です。造成されたばかりの敷地は、将来車幅に似合わない交通量の多さが想像され、また、そのコーナーに敷地が位置する事を意識して計画しました。すなわち「交通量の多さからくる騒音を如何に遮断するか」と「変形したＴ字路が生み出すブラインド効果により発生しやすい事故を如何にして予防するか」且つ、「住まいとして良好な空間を創造する」事が主要なテ－マとなりました。解決策としてコーナー部には遮音性を高める為にコンクリートの塀を設け、道路から見て認識し易いデザインとし、ドライバーに建物の存在を強く認識させる事で事故を予防できるよう計画としました。必然的に道路側に対しては閉じたデザインとなる為、外部からは死角となる部分に中庭を挿入して採光と通風を確保し、且つ開放感と回遊性のある構成としました。
