この建築は、不整形な道路と電線が蜘蛛の巣のように張りめぐらされた一角に位置しています。下町特有の良好な庶民性と同時に、交通量の多い凶暴性も持ち合わせた混沌とした様相。このようなコンテクストを生成する街並みの中での住環境の在り方を手がかりに、この建築の計画は進められ、与えられた敷地のコンテクストを分析し、主要な要素を再編集した結果として、遮音壁・光のスリット・居住空間・光のヴォイド・アイビ－ウォ－ルというエレメントをレイヤー状に積層したようなボリューム構成の建築となりました。
